UCStrategies.com's expert UC panel discusses the UCStrategies.com website, and why the unified communication information contained on the site benefits everyone from enterprise customers to end users involved in the unified communications field.  Jim Burton, CXO of UCStrategies.com, lead the discussion with an overview of the evolution of the UC material presented on the site. Marty Parker noted that the site is increasingly accessed by UC end users seeking UC information, while enterprise customers who are accessing the site are looking for planning, purchasing, and implementing information from the website.  Nancy Jamison commented that the UCStrategies.com website also is a repository of non-vendor sponsored UC research by our UC experts available free to site visitors. Research topics vary along a UC continuum from resident experts to IT infrastructure in stadiums.  UC expert Michael Finneran discussed the importance of the UC News and UC Views areas for viewers to find fresh, industry focused articles on UC. Michael indicated that the UCStrateties.com website is a great source of information on the mobility components of UC, including cellular, Wi-Fi, and WiMax’s impact on UC.

The acknowledgement of the timeliness of industry information on the website, lead to a discussion on the increased use of the UC Forum area for real time discussions. The forum area is visited by a diverse population interested in engaging in informal discussions revolving around the “Who, What, Why and How of unified communications.”

Don Van Doren emphasized that it is the readers which drive the content on the site with their posted comments on the articles and the use of the “Ask the Expert or the Contact us” features of the site. Jim Burton pointed out that the site is frequently used for research and in a typical month, there is an average of 200 unique site visitors viewing at least 20 pages before exiting the site, and the “What is UC” page was the most popular page.  As a result, it seems that visitors spend lot of time at the UCStrategies.com website searching for UC information. Jim Burton closed the podcast with a request for comments from our readers on how to make the site more meaningful for them. The UC expert panel included Jim Burton, Michael Finneran, Nancy Jamison, Marty Parker, Brenda Perea, and Don Van Doren.
