Acme Packet Provides New Voice, Video and Unified Communications Solutions
Acme Packet has announced the release of two new products: the Net-Net Interactive Session Recorder, and the Net-Net Application Session Controller. With these additions, the Net-Net product family has been expanded and enables enterprises, service providers, and contact centers to record IP sessions and integrate live and recorded IP voice, video, and unified communications with Web 2.0 business applications, thus ensuring compliance, improving customer service, reducing costs, and increasing efficiency.
As organizations struggle to keep up with the rapid transition from traditional telephony to UC and integrate their business processes and applications with IP communications, the Net-Net ISR and ASC can help businesses by streamlining and accelerating the deployment of solutions for regulatory compliance as well as communications-enabled business processes.
The Net-Net Interactive Session Recorder is a software-based IP session recording solution made to help overcome the challenges of capturing, securing, archiving, and managing interactive session recordings in IP telephony and unified communications for regulatory compliance and quality assurance. It's an open and active recording architecture with increased session capacity and no complex PBX and IVR interconnections, and includes an integrated media server to help simplify deployment and lower costs. It also offers flexible Web 2.0 API's, so application developers can precisely control session recordings and integrate session recording into business applications with ease.
The Net-Net Application Session Controller is a software platform deployed as a middleware solution that integrates applications with IP communications, enabling enterprises and service providers to streamline business processes. It allows businesses to improve efficiency and productivity, as well as serving customers better, by adding interactive voice, video, instant messaging, and multimedia communications to applications.
"Acme Packet continues to innovate, and ISR is a logical extension for adding value to multimedia IP communications," says Jon Arnold, UCStrategies Expert and principal of J Arnold & Associates. "In vertical markets where tracking all communication is a compliance issue, ISR will make IT departments much more comfortable supporting modes such as video and chat. For service providers, ISR can also be the basis for entirely new applications to offer customers who could benefit from this capability."
Lisa Pierce of UCStrategies and Strategic Networks Group, LLC adds, "These announcements, based on earlier strategic acquisitions, clearly demonstrate that Acme Packet sees its mission expanding well beyond session border controllers – to facilitating sessions and session control across an increasingly wider range of business-critical applications."
