BroadSoft Inc recently announced the release of BroadTouch, a product line providing enterprise end-users and consumers with intuitive user interfaces for Unified Communications services across any communication device.

Included in BroadTouch is the Business Communicator, an application that unites voice, video, IM, and presence on a single interface. It uses the BroadWorks application platform, along with the cloud-based delivery platform BroadCloud, to extend innovative communication services to end-users. There's also BroadSoft's clients for call center agents and supervisors, receptionists, text messaging, and web collaboration, which can be customized to an individual's specific needs.

BroadTouch was developed to provide telecommunications service providers and end-users with a consistent, intuitive user experience, services seamlessly integrated across a variety of networks and devices, and customized BroadTouch applications for their specific service offerings and branding guidelines.

"Mobile unified communication and Communication as a service (CaaS) are largely impacting how enterprises implement and use communication services," says UCStrategies Expert Jason Andersson. "Broadsoft's unified communication solution for global service telecoms service providers improves how enterprise users can access these features by allowing a plethora of devices to connect and benefit from each unique user experience."

According to UCStrategies UC Expert David Yedwab: "With the launch of BroadTouch, BroadSoft provides its Service Provider customers/partners with a 'broad' user client capability across many fixed and mobile devices. True to supporting its Service providers who deliver services to their customers on the BroadSoft platforms, the client can be customized to be at least branded by the offering SP. This move is significant because the UC customer interface – the client – is potentially a critical differentiator of the UC offering. A friendly and easy to use client that also identifies the SP is an essential component for a UC SP. It will be interesting to see if this capability, as well as BroadSoft’s applications platform provided via its Movial acquisition will finally allow SPs hosted UC offers to take off and maybe, someday get to double-digit share of users… Only time and marketing and sales will tell."
