Aastra Unveils HD Desktop Video Conferencing Solution
At Enterprise Connect in Orlando, Aastra introduced its new BluStar video conferencing solution. The BluStar 8000i media phone is an easy-to-use device that integrates true HD video conferencing quality and unified communications and business applications.
The Aastra BluStar 8000i provides broadcast quality video and audio on a 13-inch touch screen, and HD 720p video conferencing at 30 frames per second. Four voice tracking microphones and three speakers provide HD sound quality. It can provide video conferencing for up to 100 people or peer-to-peer conferencing without booking meeting rooms, and can share content with a desktop PC or Bluetooth devices with ease.
Users can access a wide range of built-in applications, even while participating in a video conference. It integrates Aastra's unified communications applications along with third-party applications. While it uses a phone interface and touch screen controls, it also identifies users with biometric fingerprint reading and voice recognition commands.
