Acme Packet has announced its acquisition of the privately-held IPTEGO GmbH. IPTEGO, an IP communications network management software company, is a provider of software solutions for real-time, end-to-end communications network intelligence, voice and video operations monitoring, customer experience management, and fraud prevention and detection. For this acquisition, Acme Packet is paying approximately $21 million.
As a result of the acquisition, Acme Packet will integrate IPTEGO's real-time intelligence engine with Acme Packet session delivery network solutions, allowing customers to move beyond individual element management for real-time, network-wide visibility to their IP communications networks. It will also incorporate IPTEGO's Palladion software suite into its product portfolio, offering it to service providers and enterprise customers through existing channel partners and direct sales.
"IPTEGO is a logical extension to Acme's footprint as they broaden from core SBC into the realm of LAN/WAN optimization," says Jon Arnold, UC Expert for UCStrategies. "Building on the SBC foundation for a secure environment, IPTEGO adds a layer of network management and visibility to help IT deliver a great user experience with peace of mind for everybody. With 30 common customers, the companies have a solid base to quickly integrate Palladion into Acme's product family."
