Acme Packet announced the release of its new Powered by Acme Packet Program. This program is designed to allow providers of IP communications solutions to embed Acme Packet's Net-Net OS-E session border controller (SBC) software into network elements at the enterprise IP border.

This initiative extends Acme Packet's session border control solutions to small and medium enterprise sites as well as smaller contact centers, and enables IP communications infrastructure providers to embed SBC software in a wide range of hardware platforms while providing enterprises with a cost-effective and comprehensive SBC solution.

"The Powered by Acme Packet Program is a creative way for Acme Packet to help a wide range of OEM partners deliver their market leading SBC to enterprise customers that recognize that security is critical to their business," says Jim Burton, Co-Founder of UCStrategies. "This is a major win for enterprise customers, the OEM vendors and of course, Acme Packet."

The Powered by Acme Packet Program is backed by a dedicated engineering team that provides developer training, user documentation, and tier three support, while the Net-Net OS-E SBC original equipment manufacturer (OEM) software operates on a variety of Intel x86-class hardware platforms. Configuration, monitoring, and controls are simplified by an embedded graphical user interface, while a flexible feature and capacity licensing model ensures that its functionality can be packed to address the needs of a variety of IP communications and applications.
