ADTRAN Inc. has announced the release of its BYOD Network Suite, designed to enable any business to meet the WiFi network demand presented by multiple devices. As BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) continues to grow, enterprises must scale to accommodate the increased number of devices and high-bandwidth applications being used, which the BYOD Network Suite will address.
The BYOD Network Suite is designed to address major issues presented to IT Managers. With its highly scalable wireless LAN, the cost and scale constraints of hardware WLAN controllers are eliminated, replaced with a cloud enabled WLAN solution, capable of supporting 48,000 users and 1,500 APs. In order to provide seamless access, the Bluesocket vWLAN solution provides unified user access control of all users through Bluesocket Access Points, wired ports, or legacy APs, also providing security through intelligent APs. Furthermore, ADTRAN's NetVanta line of routers feature RapidRoute technology, built-in encryption features, and multiple backup options to provide security and high throughput.
"Bluesocket has a long history in WLAN security, and ADTRAN will now be joining Cisco, Aruba, and many of the other WLAN vendors in offering a BYOD solution," said Michael Finneran, UC Expert for UCStrategies. "However, it is important for users to recognize that BYOD involves a laundry list of policy and security issues that need to be addressed, and this is but one part of that overall picture."
