Siemens Enterprise Communications is the Choice of German Federal Employment Agency
The German Federal Employment Agency has recently signed a full managed service contract with Siemens Enterprise Communications, worth over 100 million Euros for its eight-year duration. Siemens will handle construction for a telecommunication infrastructure for over 100,000 ports while providing hardware, software, and end-user devices for the employment agency.
Each of the agency's 1,900 different sites is set to be connected by a common communication platform with voice communication, using OpenScape Voice clusters with 165,000 end-user devices. Furthermore, Siemens will provide a wide range of network infrastructure, as well as the provision of central services, applications, and a variety of carrier services, while replacing the agency's current telecommunications systems and office and home office solutions.
"Siemens Enterprise has a huge managed services capability and clearly intends to leverage it to deliver OpenScape powered voice services," says Dave Michels, UCStrategies UC Expert. "This win, with 165,000 ports spread among 1,900 sites is impressive and likely a harbinger of how SEN intends to grow."
After considering a variety of vendors, the Federal Employment Agency picked Siemens, due to its strong multi-client capability, security features, provider services, and more, as well as being cost effective.
The installation is planned to take place by the start of 2010. For more information, visit www.siemens-enterprise.com.
