West’s Unified Communications Services and Dolby Partner Up to Create InterCall Reservationless-Plus With Dolby Voice
A new partnership has been announced between West’s Unified Communications Services and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. Together, they’re bringing Dolby Voice’s sound quality and clarity to West’s InterCall conferencing network, creating the InterCall Reservationless-Plus with Dolby Voice.
Reservationless-Plus with Dolby Voice is designed to provide high quality audio through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks, delivered to desktop computers, mobile devices, and meeting rooms. It can integrate with a full range of West’s solutions, such as InterCall MobileMeet and InterCall Unified Meeting 5, along with partner solutions.
Dolby Voice and the Dolby Conference Phone are designed to provide clear and natural audio, using noise suppression technology and delivering sounds from distinct virtual locations. This reduces background noise, and creates a more natural feel to the sound, as though it’s coming from a physical location. The Dolby brand is well known for its audio quality, so adding it to West’s solutions provides a trusted name with high expectations attached to it.
Additionally, the Reservationless-Plus with Dolby Voice can work with the Dolby Conference Phone, extending the experience between meeting rooms. It picks up voices from anywhere in the room, in order to identify who is speaking and broadcast accordingly.
“Dolby Voice is a great solution,” says Jim Burton, co-founder of UCStrategies. “Once you’ve tried it you can’t live without it. Dolby has had success with the top traditional conference call suppliers like BT, PGI, and now West. Unfortunately, the traditional conference call market is shrinking while companies like Cisco, Microsoft, and RingCentral make conferencing part their voice solutions.”
InterCall Reservationless-Plus with Dolby Voice will be made available to customers in North America soon, and will be offered to the EMEA and APCA regions later in 2017. The Dolby Conference Phone is available from West’s Unified Communications Services now.
