The 2nd UC Summit
“And a good time was had by all…” From the feedback thus far, the UC Summit 2010 was an outstanding success! Everyone agreed that a unique format and keeping the event small and intimate was a winning formula. Via keynotes, panels and roundtables, the international group of attendees were provided with a view of the industry as a whole, as well as the going-forward directions of various industry leaders. While the Solutions Integrator (reseller channel) executives often attend events given by their vendor partners, this was a rare opportunity to view the “big picture” and discuss challenges faced by the entire channel. For the end-user consultants, the UC Summit provided an opportunity to meet with numerous emerging vendors who do not yet have a consultant liaison program in place.
Executives from solutions integrators – both large and small – and end-user consultants mixed traditional learning opportunities with unusual networking opportunities that included receptions, hospitality suites, and after-hours gatherings around the outdoor fireplaces and fire pits. Kudos to NEC for having a wonderful chocolate and wine pairing at their hospitality suite. And let’s not forget the many prizes and gifts that the sponsors provided. From the Plantronics headsets for all attendees to the Flip MinoHD (Cisco), the Kindles (Interactive Intelligence), the color touch screen handsets (Aastra), the iPads (UCStrategies) and more – the sponsors did a wonderful job of making the conference special and exciting as well as valuable from the business perspective. No wonder we had to turn away people.
